Abstract: In this talk, I will talk about the modified Kadomtsev Petviashvili (mKP) equation in multi-component space plasmas. I will explain why do we need to derive these equations and how they differ fromthe traditional nonlinear equations appearing in plasmas. Non-Maxwellian distribution of electrons in spaceplasmas will also be discussed and we will see how the shape of the distribution function affects thepropagation of cubic nonlinearity driven solitary structures in space plasmas. We will also look at the multi-solution solutions of mKP equation.
