Topic of Research Seminar: Chemistry of Matter and its Relationship with Human Consciousness
Abstract: The chemistry of the fundamental constituents of matter—atoms—will be explored with emphasis on how their quantum-mechanical interactions and precise assembly into molecules and macromolecules establish the foundation for complex structures and life itself. Although seemingly inert, atoms are dynamic participants in the architecture of existence, mediating the transition from non-living matter to organized biological systems.
Through specific arrangements and bonding patterns, atomic interactions give rise to emergent properties such as metabolism, information processing, cognition, self-awareness, and ultimately human consciousness. This work explores the relationship between atomic structure, the fundamental laws governing matter and the progressive emergence of cognitive complexity.
