NUST RESEARCH CONFERENCES

NUST institutions organize conferences year round with support from national and international funding agencies (MoPDR, HEC, PSF, IGNITE, UN Agencies, USAID, Hanns Siedel Foundation, etc.) as well as from funds allocated to Research Dte and NUST schools and colleges. These conferences are categorized as follows:

1. International Thematic Conferences on yearly basis with rotation between NUST schools and colleges. The latest conference policy allows for three thematic rotating conferences (described further ahead) to be funded by Research Dte.

2. International Conferences by National Centers organized and sponsored by the National Center of Artifical Intelligence (NCAI) and National Center of Robotics and Automation (NCRA). These conferences rotate amongst their constituent labs and have funds provisioned in their respective PC-1s.

3. IEEE HONET-ICT Conference rotating amongst countries. The IEEE High-capacity Optical Networks and Enabling/ Emerging Technologies (HONET) conference is a mature conference which has reached its 17th iteration.

4. National Conferences to find solutions for various national challenges. NUST schools and colleges can pitch / send proposals for national level conferences held at their respective venues, which provide a platform for researchers and acadamecians to share their scientific findings and insights. These conferences are funded less than category '1' above; however, as these conferences gain maturity, they can be elevated to the same stature as category '1' international conferences above.
