NUST HONOURS ITS HIGH-PERFORMING RESEARCHERS AND INNOVATORS

The research & innovation excellence awards ceremony has been held on 26 Dec 2022 to honour the commitment and dedication of faculty members, who are outperforming in their respective fields of research and playing a significant role in the research ecosystem. The best researchers and innovators of NUST have proven their capability of winning national & international funding, conducting cutting-edge research to produce high-quality research publications and innovations.

Pro-Rector (RIC), Dr. Rizwan Riaz welcomed the Chief Guest, Rector (NUST), Pro-Rector (Academics) and Principals / Deans of all the Schools and Colleges of NUST. In his welcome remarks, Pro-Rector (RIC) appreciated the contributions of NUST Researchers in uplifting NUST to its current level in all the national and international rankings. He further added that “NUST takes pride in appreciating its high achievers and acknowledges the hard work undertaken by the faculty members and students”.

During the event, Rector (NUST) conferred the cash prizes and certificates to 53 awardees for the Year 2020 and 2021 for winning Best Researchers, Best Innovators and Top performer awards. Rector (NUST) in his address to the NUST Faculty, emphasized that the faculty members are integral part of the university, who are continuously contributing towards achieving Research and Academic Excellence, which is reflected through international rankings and increased national and international collaboration. Rector (NUST) urged the faculty members to keep up with the fast-changing requirements of the academia as well as impart civic and moral values in the students to produce the graduates well versed with the needs of industry and society. At the end Rector (NUST) appreciated Pro-Rector (RIC) and Research Directorate team for introduction and implementation of policies to foster research culture in the university and organizing a successful award ceremony.
