Topic of Research Seminar: Collocation methods

Abstract: Differential equations are fundamental mathematical tools and they play an important role in expressing relationships involving rates of change. Most of the time it is not easy to obtain the exact solution of differential equations, so we opt for numerical methods. Different numerical methods have been proposed in literature for obtaining the numerical solution of differential equations. Collocation methods are one of the numerical techniques for obtaining the numerical solution of differential equations. It can handle a wide range of differential equations, including both initial value problem and boundary value problem. Collocation methods are easy to understand and implement.
