Abstract: Jim Agutter is an Associate Professor in the College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah. He is the Director of the Spark Design Initiative and serves as the Associate Dean of Innovation in Undergraduate Education within the Office of Undergraduate Studies. Professor Agutter is passionate about fostering multi-disciplinary collaboration in education, particularly through the development of the Multi-Disciplinary Design Program, which he founded and directed. Through this program, Professor Agutter creates opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to collaborate on real-world challenges, emphasizing the importance of embracing diverse perspectives to develop innovative solutions. His teaching philosophy centers on the integration of diverse viewpoints and approaches to encourage creative problem-solving skills.
