Seminars and Workshops Driving the Energy Transition: Exploring Fuel Cell Supercapacitor Battery and Hybrid Systems for Sustainable Transportation

Topic of Research Seminar: Driving the Energy Transition: Exploring Fuel Cell Supercapacitor Battery and Hybrid Systems for Sustainable Transportation

Abstract: The imperative for sustainable transportation has led to a growing emphasis on renewable energy sources to replace conventional fossil fuels in the automotive sector. This seminar aims to explore the significance of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) as a key solution to address environmental concerns and the global energy crisis. HEVs integrate multiple energy sources, such as hydrogen fuel cells (FC), supercapacitors (SC), batteries, and photovoltaic cells (PV), to optimize efficiency and minimize harmful emissions.

The presentation will commence with an overview of the pressing need for sustainable transportation and the environmental impact of conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Emphasizing the urgency of adopting HEVs, the seminar will underscore the potential of this technology to transform the automotive industry.

Various hybrid energy storage system (HESS) topologies will be introduced, including configurations combining ICE-battery, ICE-battery-PV, FC-SC, SC-battery, FC-battery, and FC-SC-battery. Each HESS topology will be examined in terms of its advantages and disadvantages, enabling a comprehensive understanding of how different combinations of energy sources contribute to HEV performance.

By optimizing the design of HEVs through careful consideration of the strengths and limitations of each energy source, manufacturers and researchers can pave the way for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions. This seminar will serve as a platform to discuss the promising prospects of hybrid electric vehicles and the pivotal role of hybrid energy storage systems in shaping the future of transportation in a cleaner and more sustainable manner.
