Topic of Research Seminar: Exploring Multifunctional Nanomaterials Conjugated Natural Bioactive Compounds For Breast Cancer Treatment
Abstract: Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent and challenging malignancies worldwide, necessitating innovative therapeutic strategies. Nanotechnology has emerged as a transformative tool in oncology, offering solutions for targeted drug delivery, improved therapeutic efficacy, and reduced side effects. This presentation delves into the potential of multifunctional nanomaterials conjugated with natural bioactive compounds for breast cancer treatment. These nanomaterials, including metallic nanoparticles, liposomes, and polymeric systems, serve as carriers for natural bioactive molecules such as resveratrol, curcumin, and betulinic acid, known for their potent anticancer properties. Key aspects include the natural bioactive compound’s anticancer mechanism and their conjugation with nanomaterials to enhance stability, biocompatibility, and cellular uptake. Emphasis is placed on the synergistic mechanisms of these conjugates, which combine the unique physicochemical properties of nanomaterials with the therapeutic and biological activities of natural compounds. Studies demonstrate their applications in targeted drug delivery, controlled release, imaging, and combination therapies. The challenges of scalability, potential toxicity, and clinical translation are also addressed. This comprehensive exploration highlights the promise of integrating nanotechnology with natural bioactive compounds offering a promising alternative to synthetic anticancer drugs in breast cancer treatment toward more effective, safer, and patient-centric solutions
