Topic of Research Seminar: Factorization of non-commutative polynomials associated with directed graphs

Abstract: The factorization of polynomials over commutative rings is a classical fundamental problem in mathematics with a huge variety of applications. It is natural to try to do it in the non-commutative case. However, the situation here is much harder. A possible approach to the non-commutative case is to connect the problem with a study of directed graphs (quivers) or partially ordered set. In this case, we consider factorizations of polynomials over so-called splitting algebras associated with quivers. It helps to study certain rational relations between so-called pseudo-roots of polynomials over non-commutative rings which can be useful for computer science problems.
