Topic of Research Seminar: Human Fingerprints, its Importance and Application in forensic Science

Abstract: According to Locard’s Principle, “every contact leaves a trace”. Whenever there is a criminal activity, there will be traces of suspect’s belongings i.e DNA, Body fluids, Fingerprints and many more. Current topic is related to presence, development, comparison methodology of fingerprints and its application in identification of human friction ridges (fingerprints). Forensic science is all about identification. The unique patterns of human friction ridges are being used as a method of personal identification for hundreds or even thousands of years. At present, digitalized database systems in the world have enhanced identification process thousand times than past. The situation of Pakistan in modern forensic science especially in fingerprints will be focused.
