Seminars and Workshops i-Talk: Model Predictive Control and its applications in Power Electronics

Topic of Research Seminar: i-Talk: Model Predictive Control and its applications in Power Electronics

Abstract: Model Predictive Control (MPC) is one of the modern control techniques that has been proven successful in several applications. The key advantage of MPC is an optimal control action with systematic way to handle constraints. The purpose of this talk is to introduce students to this control technique and give some examples of its applications in power electronics.

Dr. Ammar Hasan obtained his PhD in control systems from Imperial College London, UK in 2012. Since then he has been at NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, where he is currently serving as Professor. His research is mainly in the area of control of power converters, optimization, and electric vehicle technology.
