Seminars and Workshops Investigation of Bio-Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Composites under Impact Loading

Topic of Research Seminar: Investigation of Bio-Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Composites under Impact Loading

Abstract: Low velocity impact produces internal damages and permanent indentation, which degrades the material properties and residual strength of composite structures. An experimental investigation and progressive damage model are required, to study impact behavior and critical permanent indentations in Bio-Hybrid composites. The main objective of this research is to manufacture different combinations of bio-hybrid composites and perform tensile and impact testing. The other objective is to predict low velocity impact behavior and permanent indentations in Bio- Hybrid composites using micromechanics based progressive damage model. This research work consists of experimental and simulation work.
