Topic of Research Seminar: Molybdenum Sulfide and Carbide Co-Catalyzed with UiO-66 for Enhanced Electrochemical Water Splitting

Abstract: For an efficient water-splitting process, the most challenging task is to develop a low-cost, highly active, and stable catalyst. In this regard, Hybrids composed of transition metals sulfides and carbides with MOF materials are an attractive avenue that can be explored. Such hybrid materials show modified structures along with improved electrocatalytic performance due to the synergistic effects of the two materials. We present a study on hybrids of molybdenum carbide/sulphide with UiO-66 with a focus on the synthesis of novel hybrids, employed characterization techniques, and electrochemical study of prepared catalysts for our application.
