Seminars and Workshops Quantum Leap: Pioneering the Future of Secure Communication with Quantum Computing and Quantum Key Distribution

Topic of Research Seminar: Quantum Leap: Pioneering the Future of Secure Communication with Quantum Computing and Quantum Key Distribution

Abstract: At the end of the last century, the emergence of quantum computing, specifically Shor’s algorithm, has posed a potential threat to classical cryptography. As a response to this, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) has been introduced as a promising solution. While the development of a fully functional quantum computer that could pose a serious threat to modern-day communication remains uncertain, the introduction of QKD has opened new possibilities for communication. In this presentation, I will discuss the limitations of both QKD and quantum computation and our efforts to advance the realization of both technologies.
